Registration Info Interested persons can register for programs by calling the Parks and Recreation Department at 986-7224. Registration information can be taken on the phone but participants will still need to come by Lenoir City City Hall and pre-pay before they are officially registered. For any additional registration information call the Parks and Recreation Offices at the number listed above. |
Shelter Reservations Anyone that would like to reserve a shelter at the Lenoir City Park may do so by calling Betty Wells at 986-7224. Shelter reservations will be taken at a first call basis. There is a $10 reservation fee for all shelters at Lenoir City Park. The shelter at Rock Springs Park is available on a first come first serve basis only. |
Lenoir City War Memorial Building Reservations Registrations for the Memorial Building can be taken by calling the Parks and Recreation Offices at 986-7224. The fee for the Building is $20 per hour. |

Lenoir City AYSO (Youth Soccer) SENIOR ACTIVITIES Seniors Dance Night Come be a part of the fun while other seniors dance to a variety of music. Dance styles ranging from the Two-step to Appalachian dance styles are performed on Saturday nights. The last Saturday in the month a birthday party is given to the seniors that had a birthday that month. A live band performs every Saturday night as well. General public is welcome! Time: 7:00pm Location; Lenoir City Memorial Building Contact: Carolyn Jenkins (986- 3791) Bridge Class The Lenoir City Seniors will be forming a bridge class in the month of January at River Oaks assisted living. If anyone is interested in joining this class contact Carolyn Jenkins at 986-3791. Computer Classes Anyone interested in learning more about the computer is welcome to come and join others and improve their computer skills. The class starts with Introduction to Computers. After that the instructor will teach Windows 98, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel( spread sheets), Internet, and Computer Genealogy.(Family Tree Maker) Classes now in progress. Time: Thursday@ 6:00p.m./ Friday 10:00a.m.to 12:00p.m. and 1:00p.m. to 3:00p.m. Location: Lenoir City Memorial Building Contact: Jason Simon(986-7224) or Carolyn Jenkins(986-3791) DANCE PROGRAMS Tennessee Valley Rounds Join the Tennessee Valley Rounds as they go through a variety of different dance styles. Dances are held every second and fourth Friday of every month from 8:00pm - 10:00pm. Spectators are welcome! Location: Lenoir City Memorial Building Class Meets: Mondays (continuous) Beginners 7:00pm/Intermediate 8:00p.m. Advanced 9:00pm - 10:00pm Contact: Bill or Carolyn Jenkins( 986-3791) Western Style Dance This class is a continuous class. It includes basic, mainstream, and plus stages. Beginner classes start in September. The class is open for two weeks . After the two weeks the class is closed. No new students will be accepted until next September. Spectators are welcome. Location: Lenoir City Memorial Building Class Meets: Tuesdays/continuous Instructor: Ron Marion Contact: Carolyn Jenkins(986-3791) Little T Squares Come join the Little T Squares for a night of dancing. Dances are held every 1st, 3rd, and 5th Friday of every month The Western Style Dance class must be completed in order to participate in the dances that have been designated. Location: Lenoir City Memorial Building Contact: Carolyn Jenkins (986-3791) *Adult CPR This comprehensive course combines CPR for adults, infants, and children. It teaches you how to deal with life-threatening emergencies such as block airway, rescue breathing, chest compressions, and more. Please register a week prior to the session if you would like to attend. *Firearm Safety This class is designated to provide information on proper storage and equipment to have to keep guns out of reach of children. Also provides an overview of the importance of keeping guns in a safe location and not letting them get into the wrong hands. This is not a Hunter’s Safety course. Pickin ‘n Grinin This program will be available for anyone who would like to bring their guitars and meet one night a week with other guitar players and have a big jam session. Any musician who plays other string instruments (banjo, fiddle, mandolin) are welcome to come join. Anyone interested needs to call Jason Simon at 986-7224. Needle Tatting Class Lenoir City Parks and Recreation will offer needle tatting. Needle tatting is an art of making lace with a needle and thread. The end result is similar to shuttle tatting. Classes will be offered for six weeks on Thursdays nights beginning February 1st. Age 10 and up are welcome. Please call 986-7224 to register or for more information. Self Defense Class This class is designated to increase self awareness, self confidence, physical fitness, and self discipline. Bum Do Kuan is the self-defense karate that will be taught. The clinic will go over umpiring techniques and rules of the game. Location: Lee Russell Recreation Complex NYSCA Coaches Clinics NYSCA stands for National Youth Sports Coaches Association. The purpose of this clinic is to train volunteer youth coaches on how to work with children in all aspects of sports. Coaches receive training, continuing education, excess liability insurance coverage, and each coach will be accountable for a code of ethics when coaching.
