Announces Upcoming Community Events: Open House & Benefit Yard Sale

Journey of Hope, long working behind the scenes in Loudon County to help women in crisis, is jumping out of the shadows into the public spot light with two upcoming events!

Tuesday, May 1st, Journey of Hope will hold an “Open House” for the public to come and view their new home, talk to volunteer staff, see the renovations made to the facility, and see what Journey of Hope offers the community.  Visitors may find Journey of Hope in the Calvary Baptist Church Education Building, 300 1st Avenue W., Lenoir City. The entrance is located at the side entrance on “C Street.”  Please plan to visit the Journey of Hope for our Open House between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.  Cold drinks, delicious snacks, and a friendly staff await you!

Saturday, May 5th,  Journey of Hope will hold a Yard Sale to benefit the ministries of Journey of Hope.  Items available range from large appliances and housewares, to clothing and shoes, and everything in-between.   The proceeds from the yard sale will be used at Journey of Hope to reach women in crisis and in need of a “hand up and out” of difficult situations in their lives.  The yard sale will be held in the parking lot of Journey of Hope, located at 300 1st Avenue W., Lenoir City. Hours of the sale are 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  No early sales!  We look forward to seeing our community turn out to support a wonderful service to women in need in our community!

Journey of Hope is a ministry of WMU (Women’s Missionary Union) and Christian Women’s Job Corp. The mission of Journey of Hope is to reach out with the love of Christ to women in the community who desire to move from dependency to self-sufficiency. Journey of Hope provides women in need counseling, training, and tools to equip them for life and employment. Journey of Hope provides participants with mentors, Bible study, job readiness training, and life skills training.  Every participant gives back to the community through community service projects.  Every participant is supported, mentored, and celebrates their accomplishments together with one another, staff, and supporters of Journey of Hope.
